Camping in Sicily

Camping is an amazing way to connect with nature in Sicily.

For those who love camping, it is a wonderful experience to wake up in the morning and go for a swim in the ocean after walking along the beach next to your tent. Or to explore the woods and discover stunning landscapes.

There are several camping options in Nicolosi and Milo if we want to camp in the Etna fresh woods, near Catania. The campsites of Acireale (Calatabiano) and Mascali allow you to be close to the sea, and to Catania, which is famous for its nightlife and art.

Other camping options are available in the Siracusa area, Fontane Bianche, close to the beach at Gallina. We also have a short walk to the beach at Marzamemi, the natural reserve in Vendicari, and vineyards near Noto and Nero d’ Avola where the baroque Sicilian explodes.

Let’s go south towards Ragusa. We will camp at Punta Braccetto and Punta Secca. Avola is further down. Porto palo di capo passero is where migratory birds stop, while they move from south to north, or vice versa depending on the season. These are the most remote frontiers of Europe, and they are beautiful.

A nature so intense excite us but don’t miss Ispica, Scicli, Santa Croce Camerina, Pozzallo, Marina di Ragusa, Sampieri, and Marina di Modica.

Another campsite in Butera is located near Caltanissetta. It’s on the coast in a level area, with densely planted trees and a sandy beach close to Punta delle Due Rocche.

We can settle in the Agrigento area at Porto Empedocle and Siculiana, Eraclea Minoa Ribera Sciacca, Sciacca and Menfi. Porto Empedocle offers an alternative to masonry structures by offering campings of Lampedusa or Linosa’s islands.

Near Trapani we will find camping at San Vito Lo Capo. This area is famous for its beautiful beaches and the Cous Cous Festival between June and September.

Castellammare del Golfo is an ancient fishing village that offers traditional fish restaurants along the waterfront. Also, Castelvetrano, on the Marinella beach, Triscina and Marsala are both rich in history and great wine.

You can camp in Favignana ( Egadi), right next to a bay of white sand, and the unmistakable vegetation.

There are campsites in Balestrate and Cinisi as well as Sferracavallo, Sferracavallo, Isola delle Femmine around Palermo. And also in Cefalu, Finale di Pollina, Campofelice di Roccella.

Continue on the beautiful coast road towards Messina. Camping is possible in Gioiosa Marea or Piraino, Oliveri and Terme Vigliatore.
